5
weeks for 50,000 Australian households poorest households.
Hi As you know, the 5050 program was launched in March across Australia. We have been greatly encouraged to receive reports from churches who have completed the 5050 program. Read a comment I received from Warren, the pastor of Concord Baptist: What an impact the 50/50 programme is having at our church. The messages and Bible study material have generated lots of discussion and many comment to the effect that we must not just make this a 5 week programme. Most people had not realized there is so much in the scriptures about our responsibility to the poor. The birthday card idea has been a hit and people are more confident that they can have a voice to governments and challenge them about their need to protect and aid the poor and marginalized. Thanks so much for all the time and effort put into producing this excellent and thought provoking programme.
It is not too late to join the program and we would love your church to also have the opportunity of learning more about God’s heart for the poor and our response as disciples. If you would like to participate, you can register on-line by clicking on the following link:-
http://www.5050.org.au/ Bible study booklets and gift envelopes can be ordered from us. Simply send me an email and I can email or post an order form. Please allow enough time to ensure that you receive the resources in time. Feedback comments like above will be added to the 5050 website. You may care to talk to some of your colleagues who have completed the program to receive their feedback personally. Check out the list on the 5050 website (please note that the list of churches and groups includes churches who have completed the program and those who are still to participate). If I can be of any assistance or answer any questions you may have, please don’t hesitate to contact me. With best wishes. Ian
